Water For Your Body

Living things are made of water. All living things need water. Without water living things would die. Man is a living being. Man has the need for water.

Water is to the body as oil is to car.
Here are some tips to improve the quality of the water you drink.

1. Add lemon juice to your drinking water.
2. Install a water filter system in your home.
3. Boil tap water for several minutes. Adding a pinch of salt will help to purify the water.
4. Add water purification tables to your water.
5. A Filtration pitcher can be very useful and less expensive. Run your drinking water through this.

Introduction What people thirst for

Webster's New World college dictionary defines thirst as the uncomfortable or distressful feeling caused by a desire or need for water. Other definition given were; a craving for a specific liquid eg. for alcoholic liquor; any strong desire; craving (a thirst) for fame.

I did a research on the internet regarding the things people thirst for.

Here are some interesting answers that I found in response to the question,
"What do you thirst for?"
Answers:
Lemonade or some Orange Juice, blood, Coca Cola (which I am drinking now), (which ,strawberry fanta, freedom, world domination, vitamin water,
The End Of The World. I MEAN IT. Right Now.,The right for animals, and for me to go to college,A ROCKSTAR!!!!!

Ever since the foundation of the world man has experienced thirst or the desire for some thing.

The Thirst For Knowledge

Eve, the first woman, thirst for knowledge even though God told her not to eat of the fruit of good and evil. Genesis 2: 16-17 And the Lord God command the man saying of every tree of the garden though mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, though shall not eat of , though shall not eat of it for in the day that though eatest thereof though shall surely die.

Genesis 3:1-6
And the serpent said to the woman, yea, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? The woman answered him ,We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: but of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said we should not eat of it neither touch it or we would die.

The serpent told her that she would not die but she would become wise as God.

When she saw that the tree was good to eat and a tree pleasant to the eyes and would make her wise she took of the fruit and ate it. She gave it to her husband and he ate it also. The eyes of them both were opened and they knew they were naked.

Today there are millions who have the desire for knowledge. Knowledge by it self is not good or evil. It's the reason for the knowledge that is evil or good.
If you have a burning desire to achieve knowledge that will enhance your life and for others for the good of everyone by all means go for it. If your reason is to manipulate or destroy then may I implore you to restrain from pursuing your thirst for knowledge.Knowledge is power. The thirst for knowledge is the reason why thousands spend thousands of dollars yearly to attend college, .
Do you thirst for knowledge? Why do you thirst for knowledge? How can you use your knowledge to make this world a better place?

The thirst for love

The thirst for love is very strong. If this thirst is not quenched it could lead to death. It has been proven scientifically that babies who were touched often flourished while those who were not, suffered stunted growth. From the very beginning God saw that it was not good for man to be alone. Man needed a companion to love. The thirst for love is natural. We were made in God's image. God is love. Again love by itself is not good or evil. The bible tells us to love our enemies. It also tells us that the love for money is the root of all evil.

There are those who have the thirst for love. We were born with the desire to have love. When love is absent in our lives we feel deprived.
If this prolongs we might die emotionally or even physically. The greatest love we see is the love of God.
John 3:16. For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son , so that whomever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

If you are longing for love find someone who is searching for love and give that person some love.

Fathers love your children.
Husbands love your wife.

Singles get involved in some volunteer work and you will be surprised how much love you will receive. I write from experience. After the death of my darling husband of 29 blissful years of marriage I craved for love. There was a void within me. My thirst for love was quenched when I reached out to the homeless in my community. My thirst was quenched when I saw their need for water and gave it to them. As a result of this the Water For Life Now Ministry was founded.

The Thirst For Power

The need to dominate came also from the beginning of the world. God told Adam to dominate the world. He had this power but lost it when he and Eve disobeyed God.
Satan is now the ruler of this world. There are many in history who had this thirst to dominate or rule. Kings rule. Queens rule. Presidents rule. The thirst to rule by itself also is neither good or evil. it is the motive behind the desire.

Through out history thousands of people have thirst for power. This thirst for power have caused them to achieve fame and fortune.
Some of destroyed nations and some have saved nations.

Hitler had the thirst to rule for the wrong reason. He wanted to destroy the Jews.
Many thirst to be in leadership positions to rule over others, to gain wealth or recognition while others want to be in this position to effectuate change.

The Thirst For Water

Water is not just some colorless and tasteless one dimensional liquid; on the contrary, life on earth originated from water, and all life forms depend on water to sustain them. Therefore, water is the fundamental foundation and source of eternal life on earth. Dr. Kim Young Kwi.

Your body is made up of 70% water. Are you drinking enough water? Are you drinking the right kind of water?

Water For Your Soul
My Soul Thirst

There is a thirst that cannot be quenched by water. This thirst is a crying out of the soul to get connected to its maker.
The Psalmist David wrote about this thirst in Psalm 42: 1-2
As a deer longs for flowing streams, so longs my soul for you , O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God.
Are you feeling dry and thirst inside? Do you long for r peace and joy? May I suggest that you start a daily diet of reading your bible>

Start with the book of Psalms.

The body without water will die. The soul void of spiritual water will die also

Water Tract Ministry

In 2002 I became widowed. This was very devastating  to me for several reasons.
Ministry was and is  my first love even though by profession I was trained to be  a teacher educator. I do love teaching do not get me wrong. I taught school for 40 years before retiring. Teaching to me was a also a ministry.
When my dear husband of 29 years went home to be with his maker I felt like fish out of water sitting in the pew.

Quickly I got involved in ministry at my church. I enrolled to be an intercessor and an encourager. I even joined the senior choir. I love singing. When my pastor announced that there was going to be an Evangelism Explosion Training program that would last for 13 weeks I gladly enrolled. Little did I know that God was equipping me for a Ministry outside of the church. During my training I felt the joy of seeing men and women come to know the Lord each night that we would visit their homes and share the gospel with them.

Upon completion  of the 13 weeks Evangelism Explosion course, God laid it on my heart to minister to the homeless . I felt lead to give them water. I felt strongly also to hand out tracts to them as I  gave them the bottled water. I grew to love the homeless when I was a volunteer at a cafe that fed the homeless.

Each week before they had meal I would read a passage to them and say grace. I felt very blessed doing this.

After a while I stopped helping at the cafe. Even though I stopped, I still thought of them. Each time I drove pass a homeless person on the streets sitting or standing in the hot sun begging, my heart went out to them.

I must confess that I did not obey God initially when he first laid it on my heart to give a way bottled water.
It took a dry season in my life for me to wake up and say ,"Yes Lord".  I remember  one day when I went shopping I felt  so depressed. I cried out to God and said," God what must I do?" I heard a loud clear inner voice, " Do what I told you to do" . "Okay Lord. I will do what you told me to do'"

That day I called one of my prayers partners. I told him what the told told me to do. In April 2011 We met in our home and started the Water For Life Now Ministry. Since then we have been giving  away free cold bottled water to the homeless. Jesus admonished us to do this :

When the Lord placed it on my heart to start the Water Ministry he reminded me of the story about the women who came  to him at the well. This story was one of my favorite stores as a child. I remembered singing the song that goes wiht it.

A woman went to fill her water pot
Down at the bottom of the well

But Jesus gave her water that was not
Down at  the bototm of the well.

She went away
Happy and gay.
Back to her home
Never more to roam.
For Jesus gave her water that was not
Down in the bottom of the well.

Mathew 10:42
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you , he shall in no wise lose his reward.

One day while Jesus was passing Samaria he felt tired so he sat down by a well. The name of the well was Jacob's Well. While sitting there, a Samaritan woman came to fetch water from the well.
Jesus asked her for a drink of water. The woman asked him how could he a Jew ask her a Samaritan woman for water. In those days the Jews used nothing in common with Samaritans.
Jesus replied that if she knew the gift of God and who was saying to her,"Give me a drink," she would have asked him and he would have given her living water.
The woman was surprised at his answer seeing that the cistern was deep and he did not even have a bucket to draw the water. She then asked him how he would have fetched the water and was he greater than their father Jacob who gave them that well.
Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks from this well will become thirsty again but whosoever drinks of the water that I will give to them will never thirst. This water will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
The woman replied, "Sir, give me this water so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water."
John 4:1-14

Every time you drink water remember this story. You need water in order to live. You also need spiritual water which is Jesus, to live.
John 7: 37
....Jesus stood and cried, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink."
Today may I incite you to invite Jesus the living water to come into your heart.
Pray:
Dear Lord, I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me of all unrighteousness.
Come into my heart and wash me with your precious blood that you shed on Calvary .
Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and meant , rejoice your name is now written in the Lamb's book of life.
Do let us know and we will pray for you. Find a church in your area and start attending regularly. Read your bible daily.

I Thirst ~7~

There is a thirst that cannot be satisfied by water. It is the thirst that drives a college student to complete his or her degree. It is the thirst that drives men and women  to become great and noble leaders throughout history. It is the thirst that propels great inventors to invent new products and inventions. It is the thirst that raises up great world leaders. It   is the thirst that causes a king to give up his throne for the one he loves.
The bible speaks about another thirst also. This thirst  cannot be satisfied by natural water.

The prophet Amos wrote:( Amos
Behold the days come where in I will send a famine into the land, not a famine for bread, nor a thirst for waters, but for hearing the words of Jehovah. Isaiah the prophet also spoke of this thirst: Isaiah 55:1
O everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters , and he that hath no silver; come ye, buy, eat, come ye and buy wine and milk without silver and without price. David the psalmist wrote of this thirst also.
O, God, my God, in the morning do I seek thee; my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, in a land of drought, and weary without waters. (Paslm )

Man is body , spirit and soul. God created man wiht a body from the earth. next he breathed his spirit into man and man became a living soul.  Just as how our natural body needs water it is the same way the spiritual part of us needs spiritual water. In chapter one I wrote about my love for water. I developed this love for water as a child while living with my grandmother in bath St Thomas. Reflecting back to those days I now realize that it was there that I also developed the thirst for the spiritual water.
I remember when  my grandmother would gather us around her feet and read the bible to us. She would also teach us spirtural songs. Not only did she do that but she sent  us to Sunday School every Sunday. On Saturdays she would prepare for the Lords Day. On Saturday evenings we would do all our cleaning.
We scrubbed the floors, polished them and shined  them with  our brush made out of the top of coconuts.
WE alos prepared the clothes we would be wearing to church the day before Sunday.

There is indeed a thirst that cannot be quenced by water   David  the psalmist mentioned it when he wrote,"As a deer panteth after the water so doth my heart panteth after thee'" ( Psalm)

Every Sunday we would dressed up in our Sunday best. Our white shoes were as white as snow. We use whiten to whiten the white shoes.
Our black shoes were so shine you could see your face in them.We somtimes used Hibiscuis flower to polish the black and brown shoes. With a pep in our steps and a song on our lips we skipped our way to the Bath Angelcan church. I developed my love  for pipe organs there. As the choir sang like angels and the pipe organ rang out heavenly music I felt like I was in  heaven singing along with the angels. My love for church grew strong when I went to live wiht my mom in Galina St Mary . She sent us to Sunday School every Sunday . The church I attended there also was an Angecan. I was christened as a baby in the Angelcan church. I was named Elaine after the Priest's daughter.I did a research on the name Elaine. It  means Shining light. My love for God and the thirst to know him more increased  as I grew old. At the tender age of 9 I asked Jesus to come into my heart one night at an open air meeting help by the salvation army band .

I had such thirst for spiritual things. At the age of 13 while living in Kingdston Jamaica I got baptised in a Pentecostal Church of God church. The pastor wife became my mentor. She took me under her arms so to speak. Every Thursday the church help fasting. Some days I would take the day off scholl to join my Pastor's wife at her home . Some days I would leve school to join her at lunch to pray wiht. I had so great thirst for the thigns of God. Mnay times during break time at school I would slip away frommthe crowd of playing, noisy kids  to listen to Back to Bible Radio broadcast. Quite often I would do wihtout food in order to fast and pray. I was always an avid readers. I used to spend my savings to purchae books of religious nature.

At the tender age of 15 I had a strong desire to be a pastor's wife. At a very tender age I knew the call of God was on my life.
I was not the typical child. While others were playing  as I mentioned earlier,I was praying . While others were reading Mills and Boone I was reading religious books .
I remember vividly when I would go in the bath room to listen to back to the Bible Radio Broadcast instead of playing with my friends during break times at school.
During my teenage days I held several leadership positions in the church. Little did I know that God was preparing me for a holy calling. I had this thirst. You might be asking the question, can any woman be a pastors' wife? I do not know the answer. One thing I do know for sure , was that I was called to be one.

Before I met my late husband, I dated a few guys but not seriously. Some whee teachers, laweres, accounts, etc. I just could not make the sprotual conection.
One night I went to a church that was having revival, I saw several  young men singing with   all their might praises to God on the Praise and Worship team. I was impressed.
I went home with out any thoughts of the young men.

The following morning a long time friend of mine came to my home and told me that one of the young men was asking about me. He told me that according to the young man the moment he saw me , God told him I would be his wife.

This young man was praying for a mate . At the time he was a freshman student in Bible school. I was just about ready to attend college to be trained as a teacher. We met talked and discovered that he was in Bible school to study pastoral studies. I smiled and said to my self God is the the one?

We dated for severla years. We boht graduated the same year that was July 1973. We got married August 1973. AAmazigly. Our first church we pastores was located in Tnagle River St James. Tangles River had a lovley lushous river where we both used to fo and take a bath and a swim. My love for water intesified there also.  The second church we pastored in Jamaica  before immigrating to the Cayman islands was named Living Waters Open Bible Church located In St Jmaes a lso.

One of my favorite scriptures is: "Blessed are those who hunger and thrst after rigteousnness for they shall be filled"  (Mat 5:)

Indeed My soul is sastified wiht fresh living waters that money cannot buy. I have an everlasting river of waters flooding up and running over in my soul as I seek after the river of life.

John 4: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water tha tI shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting live."

Dunns River Fall

How My Love Affair Began With Water.~One~

I began my love affair with water from a very tender age. At the age of three I went to reside with my grand mother in Bath, St Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies.

Back then we did not have running water or city water in our homes. We received water from rain or from the river. I remember when my cousins and I used to go down to the river to fetch water for drinking and cooking. Drinking water was stored in an earthen pitcher. This kept the water very cool and refreshing. We washed out clothes in the river and also took a bath there or in a big silver tub.

Another way we received water was from the rain. At the corner of our home we placed large drums that caught the water when it rained. In some homes, tanks were built to catch this water that poured down from the zinc roof. This was the fun part. I think my romance with water began here. I love the feel of cool water pouring down from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. When it rained, I used to put on my bath suit and stand at the end of the roof where the water poured down. I jumped. I laughed. I sang as the water poured down. My body felt good. I felt clean as the water washed over me. It felt so good I did not want it to stop. I loved the smell of the rain and the taste of the rain water. It had a very light taste. I now describe this experience as my 'Out door Shower."

Washing day was always a delight for me. I jumped for joy when my older cousins, and my aunt would announce that today would be wash day. Was day meant that we would travel for a mile and a half to the Bath Fountain. Bath Fountain is located in St Thomas, Jamaica.

Bath Fountain is a tourist attraction. People from around the world travel there for excursions, retreats, honey moon etc. It is a historical place located at the foothills of the John Crow Mountains.

This fountain is known for its healing properties. As a child I was told that the baths were discovered in the 17th century by a runaway slave suffering from ulcers in his legs. He stumbled upon the springs and washed his wounded limbs in the water. The next day he noticed that his legs began to heal rapidly. The news of this healing fountain spread quickly and soon the spring was named "The Bath Of St Thomas the Apostle." Visitors from everywhere have since been attracted to this fountain.

My love for water grew deeper as I grew older. My entire body loves water. My eyes, my ears, my mouth, my skin. I love to watch different bodies of waters. I had my first real experience with water falls when I was 18 years old. I was a student in college when several of my college mates decided to spend a week end at the Dunns River fall located in Och Rios St Ann's Bay. Dunns River Fall is a famous tourist attraction. People from all over the world visit there to enjoy the cascading water and I was no exception. I love all water falls. I love to look at man made water falls as well as natural ones. While a student at The University Of Miami, located in Miami Florida, I used to sit by the water falls located at the entrance of the college and watched the water as it spurted way up into the air. Ocean water fascinated me also. I love to watch the ebb and flow of the waves on Seven Miles Beach while living in the Cayman islands.

I love the still water of lakes. I love to sit by and watch the glassy water as and it rests peacefully. As the water lies still so did my spirit. This reminded me of the Psalmist David who wrote, : He leadeth me beside the still waters". " He restoreth my soul".
Dunns River Fall

As a child I loved to listen to the pit, pit, patter of the raindrops as they hit on the zinc roof of my grandmother's home in Bath St Thomas. They sounded like sweet music to my ears. I would get in bed, went under the cover and lay still while the rained poured down.

Often I would fall asleep and woke after the rain stopped. The sound of the ocean intrigued me also. As the wave dashed against the hard rocks by the sea at Galina, St Mary, where I lived also as a child after joining my mom and my other siblings. I was about 7 years old.

My mom and us would go to the sea to pick wilks to cook. Wilks are sea animals that are found on the rocks near by the sea. They look somewhat like slugs. While my mom picked the wilks I sat and listened to the wave dashing to and fro , making a soft clashing sound more like a sound brass, loud yet soft. Modern technology in the form of CD and tapes and audio videos have made it convenient for me to enjoy the sound of water in the comfort of my home with the addition of music effect.

There is nothing as refreshing as a cool drink of fresh rain water . Rain water tastes very light. Spring water tastes good too. As a child, in addition to rain water, we got our drinking water from the spring. Salt water is unpleasant to drink even though I love to taste it while swimming in the sea. Today I love to drink water. I love the taste of lemon or lime in my drinking water. The first water I drink upon rising is warm water with lemon juice. I first learned about the value of this from an health book I read. Oh! I almost forgot to share this with you. Coconut water is one of my favorite water to drink. To date it is still my favorite. My love for coconut water caused me to pay for two over prized ones in the Bahamas while was a tourist there. The price did not matter. When you thirst for anything you will pay the price for it. I remember the days when my cousins would climb the tall coconut trees in Jamaica to pick the green coconuts so that we all could all enjoy the sweet, cool refreshing, coconut water. This water is highly nutritious. You can now purchase canned coconut water.

The smell of rain is invigorating. The smell of the ocean is romantic. The smell of the river is refreshing . But nothing relaxes me more than the feel of water. I like the feel of warm water. I developed this likeness as a child when I used to sit in the warm mineral bath water sprouting out from the rocks in Bath, St Thomas. I also enjoyed the warm sea water that I used to sit in as a child in Galina , St Mary. This bath was my out door pond or jacuzzi that I now come to call it.. The sea water cuddles itself in the rocks like a round jacuzzi. I can now compare the splash of the rocks to the jets that sprouts out of my five seat jacuzzi.

Water is very essential to our well being. Without water we could not survive. For every tree that we cut down let us plant two. Through my love for water I have started the Miracle Project and the Water Ministry.
